LA-based producer, multi instrumentalist, and visual artist Mayn is releasing his latest single Fake Love today. This is the first track of a larger album that he plans to release, and for this single, he’s worked with artist M.Iggz (Miguel Rodriguez), who provided the vocals. Mayn continues his search for a unique sound that can draw a listener in while also creating an atmosphere where people can comfortably take a break from themselves, and “provide a retreat from reality.”
Fake Love starts with a club style beat that builds a constant but steady stream of intensity. This energy is built up with M.Iggz vocals, which are blended together to create an electric feeling. The track continues to add complexity with more layers. After ramping up and up, they suddenly fall down, creating a sort of lull. While the vocals are more relaxed at this point, the beat becomes more and more intense in the background. This all builds up to a wave-like movement of the song, that instantly draws the listener into its final crescendo.
After coming into the scene with his 2019 single Analog Love in Fourteen Four, Mayn has been steadily building up a body of work of laid-back, relaxed electronic songs. His latest releases include a remix of kiskadee’s Believe in Love and his own single It’s Not Working, where he worked with vocalist Caroline Byrne (with whom he had also worked previously on Please Don’t Say You’re with Somebody). After over a year of silence, Mayn is back to releasing new music of his awaited debut album, whose release date has not yet been confirmed. So stay tuned!
