Back in 2021, the world became obsessed with Eurovision winner Måneskin, an Italian band exuding rock star energy. Its frontman, Damiano David, became an instant star thanks to his cheekiness, rebellious attitude, and incredible fashion sense. Now, as a solo artist, he’s diving into as many projects as possible, one of which is the latest capsule collection with Diesel, inspired by his style. Take a look!
Diesel has sex and sensuality ingrained in its DNA: from collaborations with Tom of Finland to selling its own branded condoms, the Italian label, led by Glenn Martens, doesn’t shy away from all things hot and spicy. Damiano David has also harnessed his magnetic sex appeal to his advantage, fully aware of his attractiveness (in addition to his talent). In June, the singer became Diesel’s Global Ambassador, so the collaboration between these two powerhouses to co-design a collection is not surprising.
The genderless collection takes inspiration from Damiano’s distinctive personal style, perfectly aligning with Diesel’s commitment to self-expression, freedom, and inclusion. Key runway looks from the latest collection are reimagined with exaggerated proportions, while pieces like burnout knit T-shirts and ultra-wide leg trousers featuring Damiano’s name in Diesel’s signature font appear as if scorched by a blowtorch. Denim, which has been the brand’s main focus lately, is pushed to new limits with peel-off treatments on oversized suits, a long maxi skirt, cargo trousers, and a wide cape. To make it even more personal, some pieces are embellished with prints and patchworks of Damiano’s own tattoos.
Damiano David released his first single as a solo artist in September, reintroducing himself to the world as My Name Is Damiano David. Just a week ago, he published his third single, Born with a Broken Heart, which has already garnered over thirteen million streams on Spotify. The Italian singer’s future looks promising, and adding a collaborative collection with one of the hottest brands of the moment only enhances that.
