We are back from the latest edition of Amsterdam Dance Event, whose last call took place from October 16th to 20th, as we told you a few weeks ago in this article. The world’s largest and most influential club-based festival and conference for electronic music has reached expectations. Becoming the epicentre of the industry for a whole week, this must-go for all professionals in the sector and lovers of electronic music has once again brought the most prominent profiles internationally together in a very complete program that combines shows, parties, panels, conferences, and an endless number of formats meant to discuss the reality of the global scene.
We said it in the review we shared on METAL after we visited ADE 2023, and we repeated it a few days ago just in case: if you're planning to attend the Amsterdam Dance Event, it's important to plan your schedule and mark your favourites on your calendar. You can also let yourself flow and make decisions on the go, but considering how in-demand some of the events on the official calendar are and the huge amount of options this festival offers, you're likely to miss many of them if you haven't prepared your visit in advance.
Be that as it may, we're sure that all those who had the opportunity to experience the latest edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event firsthand have walked away feeling completely satisfied after having one of the best moments of their lives. The event has happened without incident and has reaffirmed how big and necessary this annual event is by bringing together many of the most well-known and acclaimed profiles in the current electronic music scene. The most interesting thing is that not only do we see them performing and enjoy their always incredible DJ sets, but we also have the opportunity to learn more about them, know what they think about the present and future of this industry, and listen to their opinion on the challenges this sector is facing, as well as the opportunities it presents.
The capital of the Netherlands, which offers a very stimulating creative and artistic scene in which music merges with fashion and design, is the perfect location for this huge celebration due to its strategic location on the global map, its open and diverse atmosphere that favours synergies and experimentation, and the infrastructure and venues it has to host the hundreds of events that take place over five days. The city welcomes with open arms the established event, which has become an international summit.
This latest edition in which DJ Nobu, Colin Benders, DJ Holographic, Amelie Lens, Charlotte de Witte, and Mochakk have taken part, among many others, has also included a multitude of events led by fashion brands, record labels, music communication agencies, and other agents linked to the world of culture. They all work together to make this experience unique, demonstrating how useful collaborations between all agents are and proving the importance of generating open dialogues to make this sector a better place.
Among all these events we have to mention The Media Nanny Industry Mixer, the party led by this boutique PR agency operating on a global scale, a benchmark in the communication field, together with Armani Exchange, The Brand Father, Audemars Piguet, Audio Obscura, Circulate, Entourage and Spike Management, where we enjoyed the sets of Alex Wann, Seth Troxler and Mochakk, among others, in the heart of Amsterdam. The experience brought together many top representatives of the local and international art scene and emphasised the value of the music-fashion combo. Brands such as Audemars Piguet, a Swiss luxury watch brand, also hosted private parties and exclusive events this week to celebrate their community.
We cannot fail to mention Jeff Mills' concert at Paradiso. The legendary American DJ, record producer, and composer brought his Tomorrow Comes The Harvest show to ADE, a brilliant spectacle in which he collaborates with Jean-Phi Dary and Prabhu Edouard, making improvisation its fundamental pillar, using it to explore the unknown, cross sounds, and transcend rhythms. This is the magic of the Amsterdam Dance Event, which gives us the chance to see some of the most acclaimed artists from all over the world experimenting with other formats, using this platform to share different and innovative proposals with their audience in a plural and multicultural environment.
Amsterdam Dance Event has just announced the dates for its 30th edition, which will take place from October 22th to 26th of 2025, coinciding with the final week of Amsterdam 750, the 750-year anniversary of the Dutch capital, where the celebrations will have many events taking place in Amsterdam throughout the year.
