Music releases during this month are all about artists delivering their best and very personal interpretation of what a potential summer anthem would sound like, and the audience happily welcoming and dancing to each and every single one of these songs. After all, we have the free time and the good mood we’ve been looking forward to this whole year. Someone who, aside from being used to creating summer hits, also exhibits one of the best vibes behind the DJ booth is Mochakk, who has just released Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 I, the first installment of his two-part EP that has everything to be one (or two) of the hottest releases of the season.
The perfectly planned project under the name of Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 is a genius idea to be the hot topic during the entirety of summer with its releases of the first part on July 26th and the second one on September 6th, a great plan to lengthen the life of an EP that, just by listening to the first part, we can already say it deserves it. Under the iconic CircoLoco Records, this six-piece album promises to have all the sounds we love to hear on the dancefloor, where we can switch between flowing and vibing with a drink in hand to dancing energically without any worry. In this first part that has just been released, three songs are the perfect teaser that will keep us looking forward to the other three that will complete the collection.
The majority of Mochakk tracks have features in them, so the second song, The Line, is a highlight not only for being his only solo track on the album (that is not a remix) or because of the nice blend between the snares and the synths, but because we can enjoy his own vocals on it for the very first time—a new door that opens for Mochakk on his style exploration and another resource that he can confidently now make use of.
The opening song, which takes its name from the album title, Locomotiva Ibiza 2099, features VTSS's alluring voice in a more refreshing and slow tempo than her usual hard techno sound, a formula that works just as well. On the third and final track of this first part, we can enjoy the production of the same song on a Dub Mix, a stripped-back but equally strong version of the original. We can't wait to hear what Mochakk has for us in the second part!
