In just one week, Amsterdam Dance Event will welcome us to a new edition of the world’s biggest electronic music festival. This essential event in the industry that brings together artists, journalists, PR agencies, labels, and lots of professionals from all over the world, which we told you about last year after having experienced it first-hand, will be back from October 16th to 20th with over a thousand events in more than 200 venues over five days and nights. In a few days we will be heading to Amsterdam to take part in ADE 2024, a unique event that will bring together more than 3,000 performing artists, making it the world’s largest and most influential club-based festival and conference for electronic music. This project, organised by the Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing electronic music, its culture, and its industry worldwide, is much more than a music festival. Having become a fundamental meeting point for all professionals in the music industry, it not only offers performances and DJ sets but a super complete program of conferences, panels, and activities that promote networking and business.
On October 16th, the new edition of Amsterdam Dance Event will kick off with five opening concerts taking place simultaneously. While Dutch artist Eefje de Visser will play the glass atrium at the Van Gogh Museum unplugged, Nick Verstand & the Cello Octet Amsterdam will take on Door Open Space in a unique performance designed expressly for the occasion. BIMHUIS will be presenting a special collaboration between legendary free jazz singer Greetje Bijma and left-field artist Oceanic. We will enjoy a genre-fusing concert by Luxe, and 24Classics will present Philip Glass by Lavinia Meijer & Nikki Hock at the iconic Zuiderkerk. Sounds good, doesn't it?
If you have attended previous seasons of this spectacular event, you know that the most important thing is to plan your agenda a few days in advance, since it is impossible to attend all the events. One more must-see on our agenda will be Fresh Ideas From Abroad: What We Can Learn from Music Agencies Worldwide session in which some industry professionals will participate, such as Seiya Matsumiya (CEO/Music Supervisor, Black Cat White Cat Music), Maxime Rouge (A.D. Music, Prodigious/Publicis), and Christophe Caurret (Music Creative Director, Publicis), to uncover the unique approaches they use to scout and nurture new talent.
Chloé Caillet, BASHKKA, Colin Benders, Paco Osuna, Richie Hawtin and the always fantastic DJ Nobu are just some of the many names confirmed for ADE 2024, which will attract visitors from over 150 countries and which offers in its program such interesting initiatives as ADE Lab, ADE Beats, the leading international conference for hip-hop, bass, and beats; ADE Startups, the start-up program running alongside the ADE Pro conference; and ADE Green, the pioneering conference on sustainability and social change within the music industry.
