Based on the namesake book, this psychological thriller follows a famed journalist who discovers she is part of a novel that will reveal her most hidden secret. This magnificent collaboration between Alfonso Cuarón and Cate Blanchett, who stars in the lead role, will premiere on October 11th after receiving a five-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. The show, which will release its episodes weekly, is available exclusively on Apple TV.
Dune: Prophecy
The prequel to one of the most important sci-fi movies of our time is about to be released on HBO’s Max (November). Set ten thousand years before the downfall of the Atreides, this show will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit, the mysterious, all-female cult that operates in the shadows. Denis Villeneuve, the director of the original films, takes part as an executive producer for the project.
The Penguin
From outer space, we return to the dangerous streets of Gotham City. Following the successful return of the Dark Knight to cinemas, a spinoff has been created, focusing on one of his iconic nemeses. The Penguin follows Oswald ‘Oz’ Cobblepot as he attempts to rise through the criminal underworld and become the new mafia boss after the death of Falcone. This new addition to the DC cinematic universe, planned by Matt Reeves, has already released two episodes on HBO Max to strong reception.
Agatha All Along 
Continuing with comic book adaptations, we have the latest entry to the MCU. This thrilling and wicked adventure features the redemption of Agatha Harkness, the main villain from Wandavision (2021), as she embarks on a journey to reclaim her powers with the help of a teenager and a regrouped coven of witches. This exciting and unique addition to the Marvel universe is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the most popular cinematic universe. Available on Disney+.
Grotesquerie 
Staying true to his signature style, Ryan Murphy presents his new project, Grotesquerie, already available on FX. In this macabre and mysterious drama, we follow detective Lois Tyron as she investigates a series of murders that hit uncomfortably close to home. To uncover the perpetrator, she enlists the help of Sister Megan, a nun journalist with an unshakable, fierce faith in humanity. Intriguing and unsettling, this show is a perfect example of Murphy’s distinct style and is sure to appeal to horror fans.
