There is an undeniable dreamy quality in the work of Seb Wildblood. The Los Angeles-based British producer has been giving us incredible songs and records — remember this interview from 2023 when we wanted to delve deeper into Separation Anxiety, his third studio album. Bridging lo-fi and enveloping atmospheres with introspective lyrics, Wildblood’s sound has been building him a reputation for over ten years, which he’s about to pour in his upcoming new album, Waterworld, out November 19th. Before that happens, today he releases the latest single of the LP, titled carry you back, featuring ABUNAI.
Speaking on the sixth single of his newest record, Seb says: “My new single carry you back was one of the earliest tracks that shaped the album’s sound, and releasing it now as the final single feels full-circle. I've been a fan of ABUNAI for a long time, especially his Chrysalis album, so getting to collaborate with him really means a lot.” The song is everything you can expect from the producer and composer: intimate, vulnerable, hypnotising, and somewhat hazy. It blends his dreamy pop melodies with a sense of bliss that instantly takes listeners to happy memories.
In July, Wildblood released keycard and new phone, a double EP with the first two singles of the upcoming LP. After that, he’s also released Insomniac Crossing, …you say, and help me wake up (los angeles), the other singles ahead of the album. Today, he’s finishing it off with carry you back, which cements the project and hooks us up, wanting to listen the final result of the entire project.
The release of this new single comes at the perfect time as well: on the 6th of November, the British singer will kick off a month-long Asian tour that will see him perform in Japan (Tokyo, Funabashi, Osaka), South Korea (Seoul and Busan), Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok), and China (Beijing).
