Another day, another collab. This time, it’s sporstwear giant Puma that gets together with London-based Aries to create a capsule collection that they had already teased at New York Fashion Week last February and whose campaign is now lensed by NYC-based photographer Mark Luckasavage. Consisting of both apparel and shoes, the Puma x Aries drop is a dream come true for the fans of each brand as well as sneakerheads and all-things-athletic lovers.
By bridging the technical quality of Puma with Aries’ know-how in comfortable, urban lux-streetwear, the collection features eye-catching graphics, a mix of nostalgic and contemporary references, and combines materials like nylon with knitwear. It might seem contradictory at first, but when checking out the result, it does make sense. In the apparel department, the collection consists of six key pieces: a long-sleeved T-shirt with Aries graphics; a knit button-up cardigan with a digital print (available in red or yellow); a cycling-inspired lace-up T-shirt crafted in jacquard knit; an oversized T-shirt; a water-repellent nylon jacket with skeleton graphics, pants to pair up with that also feature the X-ray graphic.
For the sneakers, the Puma x Aries collab has worked on two different models, the Mostro and the Suede. The former is “the crown jewel,” as they put it, and is reworked with a mix of mesh, neoprene, and suede, and features and adjustable elastic closure at the back. The latter comes with a rubber sole, leather toe cap, and graphics on the heel and tongue, getting the Aries treatment.
