From Glenn Martens to Maison Margiela and Rabanne, H&M continues its tradition of bringing some of fashion’s most distinctive voices to a wider audience. The Swedish retailer’s latest collaboration pairs its own language with the elegance and glamour of red carpets thanks to Elie Saab’s opulent approach to couture.
Elie Saab opened his atelier in Beirut in 1982, during the Lebanese Civil War, and built the House around romantic silhouettes, crystalline embellishment and red-carpet dressing. His bridalwear and evening gowns earned him an international reputation, making the designer a natural addition to H&M’s long-running collaborations. Previous collaborators include Balmain, Versace, Maison Margiela, Mugler, Rabanne and Glenn Martens.
The Elie Saab H&M collection translates the House’s established codes into a wardrobe spanning womenswear, menswear and light-catching accessories. Sculptural tailoring sits alongside gradient sequins, lace and cascading embellishments, extending Saab’s eveningwear vocabulary beyond the red carpet.
