Christian Louboutin has never needed much encouragement to embrace fantasy, and for Winter 2026 that instinct takes him somewhere surprisingly personal: his own garden. Its colours, plants and unexpected details become the starting point for a campaign in which nature feels like a world of its own, setting the tone for a season that brings together established signatures and significant new beginnings.
As that inspiration makes its way into the collection, things quickly become stranger. Flowers and leaves appear alongside tiny crystal snails, while embroidered vegetables transform linen into something approaching a miniature still life. Elsewhere, cascades of feathers introduce movement and connect the natural references with Louboutin’s longstanding fascination with cabaret. It’s playful, certainly, but filtered through the sense of fantasy and exaggeration that has always been part of the Maison.
At the centre of the season is one of Louboutin’s most recognisable creations, returning twenty years after it first appeared. The Pigalle is now La Pigalle, marking the evolution of a shoe whose sharp silhouette has remained virtually untouched for two decades. Its architecture stays the same, while a padded insole and a more durable sole introduce changes focused on how it feels to wear. For Winter 2026, deep red joins crystal-covered and exotic finishes.
While womenswear looks to the garden, menswear is entering a very different chapter with the first full collection developed under Men’s Creative Director Jaden Smith following January’s Avant-Première. Performance and streetwear references meet the Maison’s sartorial codes throughout, with ideas ranging from the glossy, dripping effect of Molten Trapman to reworked formal silhouettes. Smith’s vision also extends to bags and accessories, conceived as part of the complete silhouette.
What makes the Winter 2026 campaign particularly interesting is the way these two directions are allowed to coexist. Louboutin finds surrealism among flowers and the smallest details of nature, while Smith brings a younger, more experimental language to menswear. The references may come from different places, but together they make this season feel like a Maison comfortable enough with its history to keep adding new chapters to it.
