Following their sell-out event last year, Visions is back and ready to shake up 2022. Free from restrictions, this year the music festival returns in full swing and we’re expecting it to be bigger than ever. Visions has been known to celebrate musical diversity by bringing together artists from all genres and ensuring there is something for everyone, and this year is no different. The festival is set to take place on 23rd July in multiple venues across Hackney in London.
The lineup boasts musicians representing all sorts of sounds. Topping the bill is Black Country, New Road. Known for their unique sound and blending of genres, the rock band from Cambridge recently earnt their second Top 5 album with Ants from Up There. Their performance at Visions will be their first London appearance since the release of their LP, which will allow listeners to hear their new song lineup for the first time without their lead singer. Heard not long ago in Bristol, it’s an exciting new direction for the band sharing vocals across the remaining members.
However, the lineup does not stop at rock. While many of the featured artists are from the UK and Ireland, their sounds range from electronica to indie-folk. For those who are looking for something experimental or funky, you can let loose to British techno star Aya duo Giant Swan. Both artists explore strong beats and edgy instrumentals – perfect to get lose yourself in. If you’re craving something more chilled but still sonically intriguing, make sure you check out Nukuluk and Oklou. The lineup also includes a plethora of other genres, such as post-rock band Deathcrash, rapper Louis Culture and rising pop artist Miso Extra. Also make sure to be on the lookout for newcomers Léa Sen, Tiberius B, Sans Soucis, O., Bored at My Grandma’s House and Voka Gentle. Each of these acts have something fresh to offer – Visions has curated a list of talent that is truly fit for all listeners.
Just like the lineup, this year’s location is also bigger and better than ever. The festival is set to expand to multiple new locations, including Hackney Church, Hackney Round Chapel, Oslo, Paper Dress Vintage, Chats Palace and other outdoor courtyard spaces – get ready to vibe all day and night in every inch of the borough of Hackney.
Additionally, if just one day is not enough for you, Visions will also host a special Friday event on 22nd July at Hackney Round Chapel. Featuring the dreamlike sounds of breakthrough pop acts Yumi Zouma and Far Caspian, this will surely be a night of joy and nostalgia. Keeping us on our toes, Visions will also announce other exciting guests as the big day approaches. Visions has greatly emphasised the importance of accessibility, and they don’t just mean their music. To ensure that this high quality experience is welcome to everyone, the festival’s first tier tickets are priced at an affordable £25. Tickets for the Friday event are priced at £16.50, and bundles for both are available for £37.50. In a climate of rising prices everywhere we are happy to see access to culture staying just that, accessible.
