Wads returns with his latest single, Beast, a bold and introspective track that expands his vibrant electronic R'n'B sound. Following his debut solo release, Come Here, which gave him a deserved spot in the industry, the Copenhagen-based artist continues to build his unique path with this spaced-out pop creation. Marking another fearless step in his solo journey, Beast pairs atmospheric and groovy production with alien-like pitched vocals, blending emotional depth with experimental sounds.
On Beast, Wads explores themes of self-acceptance and identity, confronting feelings of alienation and disconnection in a world where the struggle to find a sense of belonging is more common than ever. Reflecting on his struggles to fit in and the pressure of societal expectations, Wads turns his quirks into a source of strength. "I’ve always been a beast at overthinking and a beast at trying to fit in with my surroundings," he shares, "but now it’s like I’ve understood how my peculiarities can be used – learnt to acknowledge and accept who I am – and that’s a pretty intense superpower to possess.”
Previously known as one half of the multi-platinum duo Phlake, Wads' solo venture feels deeply personal yet universally relatable. With Beast, he channels his experiences of feeling adrift into a powerful, genre-blurring anthem that seems perfect either for a relaxed afternoon at home or a vibey late-night drive. Teaming up with producer Awinbeh Ayagiba, Wads continues to push boundaries, promising even more daring releases in 2025.
