Today Tommy Down is presenting his Live Studio Sessions video filmed at The Crypt Studio in North London, featuring his hit Do You Want It All?. The Camden-based artist, who has worked with acclaimed producers such as Grammy-nominated hitmakers Jon Shave and Jason Pebworth of Invisible Men, as well as Jeffrey Silverman, immerses us in the sound universe he builds with his new track, the first single released from his upcoming EP due for release later this year. Catch Tommy live at Breaking Sound UK’s next London show on Thursday, 19 June.
Having performed at events like Camden Rock and after having six of his songs featured in just as many episodes across all three seasons of HBO's hit drama series Industry, co-created by his brother Mickey Down, Tommy Down has made a well-deserved niche for himself on the music scene. His single, Mrs Blue, exceeds five million streams on Spotify, and his community continues to grow with each new release. The Live Studio Sessions video he's unveiling today radiates authenticity and features Tommy alongside a live band, composed of Aarron Dolby on bass, Tom Wardle on guitar and Jack Purbrick on the drums.
“The lyrics are about maintaining your soul and morals in your pursuit to gain all your worldly possessions and acclaim,” says the artist about his track Do You Want It All?, which draws from some Radiohead tracks like Creep but with a shoegazery spin to it. Filmed by Louis Hudd, the video kicks off with what feels like exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of a studio practice session and then shifts to a black-and-white shot of Tommy and the band as they begin their performance.
