Autumn has a reputation problem. The days shrink, the weather develops a personal grudge and suddenly every plan involves a roof, a coat and somebody explaining the concept of hygge. Luckily, III Points, ADE, Semibreve, C2C, MIRA and Mutek MX have other ideas. From Braga’s theatres to Miami’s humid sprawl, these festivals make a convincing case for refusing seasonal hibernation.
Yes, much of the action moves indoors. This means fewer sunsets carefully positioned behind a DJ booth and more time spent wondering whether the room has ventilation. A fair exchange, perhaps, when the same walls can hold bass, light and moving images with the intensity these programmes demand. Autumn festivals tend to be more compact, more urban and slightly stranger than their summer cousins. They turn clubs, theatres, former factories and entire neighbourhoods into temporary maps of what electronic music can become.
So keep exploring when the evenings arrive too early. The calendar ahead moves through techno, experimental pop, sound art and digital performance, with enough international detours to delay the annual retreat to the sofa.
III Points (Miami, US)
Miami’s III Points takes over Mana Wynwood on 16 and 17 October, pairing the city’s underground electronic pulse with rap, indie and left-field pop. The scale is unapologetic: almost three hundred artists across thirteen stages, including Blood Orange, Underworld, Kelela, Four Tet, Floating Points, Danny Brown, Honey Dijon, Tokischa and Sunn O))). It’s a lineup capable of producing genuine decision fatigue, but that excess is precisely the point. Come for a favourite, disappear into Wynwood for twelve hours, and return with several new obsessions.

ADE (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
From 21 to 25 October, Amsterdam Dance Event celebrates its thirtieth edition by turning the entire city into one enormous, occasionally overwhelming timetable. More than 1,200 events stretch across clubs, cultural spaces and conference rooms, with artists including Avalon Emerson, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, DJ Nobu, Skepta and SPFDJ, plus Jean-Michel Jarre as guest of honour. ADE is less a single festival than a test of navigation and stamina. Its real strength is range: industry conversations by day, tiny label showcases and large-scale club nights after dark.

Semibreve (Braga, Portugal)
Braga hosts Semibreve from 22 to 25 October, spreading electronic music and digital art across Theatro Circo, gnration, museums and the Basílica dos Congregados. Its sixteenth edition favours performances built to be experienced in full: Fennesz and Oscar Jockel’s Saffron on Grey, TYGAPAW’s live show, Azu Tiwaline, Noémi Büchi and PYUR with Tarik Barri all stand out. Installations, films, talks and an undisclosed opening-night performance widen the frame. This is the option for anyone who prefers immersion to rushing between twenty stages.

C2C (Turin, Italy)
Turin’s C2C marks its twenty-fifth edition from 29 October to 1 November during the city’s Contemporary Art Week. The lineup is almost suspiciously well judged: Arca, Robyn, The Avalanches, Yung Lean and Bladee, Grouper, Shygirl, Oklou, Smerz and Marina Herlop all appear. Events move between OGR Torino, Lingotto Fiere and the returning Teatro Carignano, giving the weekend a shape that extends beyond one hangar. Few festivals make experimental pop, club music and art-world pilgrimage feel quite so naturally compatible.

MIRA (Barcelona, Spain)
MIRA returns to Barcelona’s Fira Montjuïc on 6 and 7 November for its fifteenth edition, treating the screen as more than expensive stage decoration. Arca and Max Cooper present live audiovisual shows, while Machine Girl, Tortoise, Helena Hauff, Nicola Cruz and Anthony Rother’s Datapunk move between live sets, DJ performances and hybrid formats. Installations, immersive projections and digital work complete the programme. It’s designed for people who want to dance and stare at impossible images simultaneously, ideally without pretending the visuals are merely background.

Mutek MX (Mexico City, Mexico)
Mutek MX has spent 2026 operating as a year-round platform rather than compressing everything into one week. Its autumn finale runs in Mexico City from 6 to 8 November, led by Nocturne at Estudios Maravilla on the opening night. Lorenzo Senni, Kelly Moran, Dasha Rush, Crystallmess, Open Reel Ensemble, Valesuchi and Estrella del Sol are among the first names announced, followed by collaborative nodes across the city. The expanded format suits Mutek’s interest in sound, moving image and technology: less sprint, more constellation.
