Trading the dancefloor for something more intimate, the award-winning Melbourne-based electronic duo Shouse collaborates with Vance Joy, one of Australia's most decorated voices, in Wherever You Are, a deeply moving track that creates an immersive atmosphere full of nuances. Jack Madin and Ed Service, the creative minds behind Shouse, provide Vance Joy's warm and wistful vocals with their signature layered choirs, weaving a dreamy mix that floats somewhere between electronica, folk and choral soul with this track that marks the beginning of the countdown to the presentation of their highly anticipated debut album, Collective Ecstasy, set for release July 4th.
"When I heard the song, I immediately connected with it. When I sang it in the studio, it flowed out so purely. There's a unique DNA and mood to the songs Shouse writes. I'm a fan," says Vance Joy when asked about Wherever You Are, a collaboration where the musical duo and the singer of Riptide and Mess Is Mine, among many other hits, unite the best of both worlds in this intimate melody for the ones we miss and the promise that love can reach across any distance.
Since they burst onto the global scene with their anthemic breakout hit Love Tonight, which became a dancefloor hit all over the world, Shouse have cemented their place in the international dance and live music landscape. In two weeks they'll be releasing their most important project to date. "From the bush shack to the cathedral, from the club to the field. Made for bodies. Made for connection", they add when talking about their debut album.
