Arriving as Ruti's second release since her EP, having since collaborated with dynamic pop-funk duo Bad Sounds on the single You Move Backwards, her new single Safe & Sound immerses us in a hypnotising enveloping atmosphere. This new song, which comes along with a music video, lands as an immediate reminder of her huge, undisputed potential. An outstanding piece which blends elements of modern pop, soul and jazz. And the production lends itself as abed to a very relatable sentiment, the comfort of home. Because after these 2 very complicated years, being able to live without worries is something especially coveted.
Ruti speaks precisely about this feeling when she explains the feelings from which her new single, Safe & Sound, starts. “I wrote it at a time when I’d been travelling a lot and felt completely drained. I just needed to get home, I wanted comfort and security.” Because, as she says, she has not been the only one who, during these last few months, has felt like going out after spending some much time at home was kind of unnerving and tiring. “I know this whole experience has not been the same for everyone,” she adds.
Ruti now takes advantage of the fact that the health situation is much better and that live performances are back, and releases this new single after an unforgettable festival season, which saw her warm up crowds for Adele at British Summer Time and Tame Impala at All Points East. The Essex-born, Liverpool-based singer who quickly rose to the forefront of the emerging scene with her 2021 EP All At Once seems to be clear about her last goal: to put all her passion and energy into music and continue to carve out a niche for herself in the music scene.
