London-based, passionate queer member of the LGBTQ+ community, songwriter and producer, is taking us on a an adventure with an ode to David Bowie’s 1969 Space Oddity, also including real audio samples from Sputnik and NASA Apollo 10 mission. Runrummer's brand-new track is Cosmic Love, the icing on the cake to her forthcoming EP Outer Space.
Her artwork is a mixture of alt-pop blended with indie and electro frequently carried away by an 80s melodic environment. Outer Space reveals a development for her, since it moves closer to an indie focus while it keeps one foot in the alt-pop sphere. Watching the video, we see pixel animation coloured with a purple palette. We are led by a car that keeps moving forward in a seemingly endless city. It doesn't have a plot but it is about the intense hypnotic neon lights filling the screen and letting us focus on the serene but electric eighties' melody.
Cosmic Love is an epic space odyssey born from nostalgia. While speaking about the track, she spits out “Bowie is one of my all-time favourite artists, and Space Oddity was one of my favourite songs growing up. I have such strong memories of listening to this track with my dad, sat on the floor of our living room in front of the record player.”
