Party Nails has been linked to music from a very young age. Before shaping her pseudonym by which she is currently known on the music scene, Elana Carroll was a guitar-toting tween songwriter, playing any open mic she could near her hometown of Chatham, New York. Now, having found the sound she feels comfortable in but being open to experimenting with new formulas, she releases her new single, Bull In A China Shop. This song was written during lockdown when everything was beginning to feel scary, confusing and weird.
"I had so many weird dreams about basically all of the scary and hard stuff I'd ever lived through, and I would write about it. I thought this song was about someone from my past. But now I'm realizing it's about me too," says the artist about this new single, which comes after having started off 2023 with a bang with Like U, a collaboration with Austin-based Boy Sim. The second single from this year, Bull In A China Shop, comes with an announcement of a west coast tour in July with San Francisco-based Gloomy June.From Washington to California. Naming Robyn, Prince, SZA and Dolly Parton as some of their muses in the studio, Party Nails continues to explore music from different angles, finding her place in a far-from-easy industry that forces artists to release new music too fast. She knows what she wants and is determined to achieve it.
