ORKID
The Fear of Forgetting

How do you hold on to someone who is already gone? And what happens when even the memories you thought would last forever begin to fade? With her new single, Wait, Don’t Go!, Swedish alt-pop artist ORKID confronts one of grief’s cruellest realities: the possibility of losing someone twice. Accompanied by a music video directed by Adam Falk, the song turns that fear into an urgent, deeply personal plea.
When we last spoke with ORKID a few months ago, she was preparing to release In All Of My Tomorrows, an EP that explored grief through intimate songwriting and atmospheric production. Her latest single takes that exploration further, capturing the desperation of trying to preserve the smallest details of someone we love before time begins to erase them.
“What happens when you start losing the memories of someone you love? You lose them twice,” ORKID shared on social media. That fear runs through the lyrics, particularly in the devastating line, “You left me once; how dare you do it again.” There’s anger beneath the sadness, a feeling that comes through in her distinctive vocals and Jarly’s atmospheric electronic production. ORKID co-wrote the track with Alex Karlsson and Linnea Södahl.
The accompanying video, directed by Adam Falk, took months of preparation and two days of filming. “I seriously never wanted the days to end,” ORKID explained, describing the experience as an incredible journey. She also thanked the creative team for “helping me give something so difficult a place to exist.” The result brings the song’s emotional world to life, exploring the fragile nature of memory and the painful feeling of watching it slip away.
With Ethereal featured on the EA SPORTS FC 27 soundtrack, ORKID’s international profile continues to grow. Wait, Don’t Go! also introduces her forthcoming third EP, promising another deeply personal chapter.
