Nippa places Tottenham at the centre of Homegrown, even as his music travels further afield. The singer’s nine-track EP is his Warner Records debut, moving between R&B, rap, dance and soul while keeping north London as its point of reference.
Bittersweet is one of the clearest entry points into the project. Produced by KAYTRANADA and Rance, the track pairs the pull of the dancefloor with a more unsettled internal monologue, as Nippa questions whether he is living in the moment or moving too fast to recognise it. Its official video extends that tension between pleasure, impulse and self-awareness.
Across the rest of the record, home is less a fixed place than a reference point. Kacey, featuring Jordan Ward, turns distance into romantic frustration, while the title track with Blxst connects Tottenham and South Central Los Angeles through two artists whose stories are rooted in community and ambition. Elsewhere, I’m Scared To Be Left Alone strips things back emotionally, and Just Vibe gives the project room to breathe through rhythm and instinct.
Pino Palladino, Lido, Don Mills, Camper and KzDidIt contribute to the record’s production. Despite that range of collaborators, Homegrown remains centred on Nippa, using each shift in sound to show a different part of the same coming-of-age story.
The project arrives as the artist’s relationship with Tottenham becomes more visible. Homegrown soundtracked Tottenham Hotspur’s 2026/27 home and away kit launch, a full-circle moment for an artist whose ambitions now extend beyond the neighbourhood where he grew up. “It’s about me staying true to who I am and where I’m from, no matter where I end up,” he says.
