When we last spoke to Naomi Jane in March 2024, she was releasing her single Pretty Boys, showing a more powerful, unapologetic side to her while still sharing her vulnerability with her audience. Now, five months later and not having stopped working for a moment on her musical project, the singer, whose voice captures the ethos of her generation, presents her new song, Heartbeat Melody. This is the prologue to her debut EP, Sweet Talk, which will be available later this year and will explore themes of connection, self-discovery, and emotional growth.
Heartbeat Melody has a playful sound. Very Kygo-vibe, girl anthem! I write a lot of songs about love, but none of them have ever highlighted love as this amazing thing. All of them sort of diss love. So often songs dwell on deceit, heartache, and the breakup. This song is about the fun of falling in love!” The artist, who, despite being only fifteen years old, has proven to have a remarkable ability to convey complex emotions through her lyrics, tells us when we ask her about her latest release, which focuses on the first phase of falling in love and which is defined by illusion.
Naomi Jane focuses on a universal emotion that is hard to put into words, and she’s inspired by the feelings that arose when she met her high school boyfriend, going from swearing off feelings to wearing her heart on my sleeve. “Everyone’s been there. This song is the start, the evolution of falling, falling into love, and into the storyline of my EP, Sweet Talk, and I’m so excited to share it as the first single.” She will be releasing new songs in the next few weeks, so stay tuned so you don’t miss anything!
