During this edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, we didn’t just spend our days watching and covering the shows. We also wanted to document what happens behind the scenes: those moments the audience doesn’t always get to see. Photographer Laura Álvarez joined us throughout the week, moving between backstage areas, shows and the streets to capture another side of what was happening in Madrid.
We were at the Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste, where Palomo celebrated his tenth anniversary with one of the most special shows of the week, and at the Universidad Nebrija Communication and Arts Campus, where Laura slipped backstage with Ernesto Naranjo, whom we spoke to just a few days before his presentation. Moisés Nieto was another of the designers she followed closely, capturing those minutes before the runway that usually remain hidden from view.
And with all the shows leaving Ifema this season, following fashion week also meant moving around Madrid. Different locations brought different atmospheres and ways of experiencing each show, and Laura was there to photograph what happened in between: the preparations backstage, the people arriving and the looks outside. We’ve already told you plenty about the collections and designers over the past few days, so we won’t do it all over again. Now it’s Laura’s turn. Here’s what the latest edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid looked like through her eyes.
