Stockholm-via-London duo Lover’s Skit return today with their new single No Te Metas, taken from their debut EP All Rights Reserved, set for release September 19 via 40 Miles. Formed by vocalist Nathalia Aránguiz and producer Ove Jerndal, the pair fuse jagged electronics, punk energy, and Latin rhythms into a sound built for both the dancefloor and the mosh pit.
No Te Metas blends the salsa music Nathalia grew up with, the grooves of Deee-Lite, and the bold spirit of Rosalía, resulting in an upbeat, hybrid track that is as playful as it is defiant. Lyrically, it channels the energy of nights out with friends, reckless fun, and a sense of untouchable confidence. The accompanying video, co-directed by Mattematrix and Lover’s Skit, reflects the track’s high-energy character through vibrant visuals and a sense of unfiltered spontaneity.
Lover’s Skit came together after a mutual friend suggested collaborating. Ove, with roots in local hardcore bands, and Nathalia, who grew up in a working-class neighbourhood in Stockholm as one of the few kids of colour in her class, combined their different perspectives and influences to create a distinctive sound. Since forming, they have played venues such as The George Tavern, The Old Blue Last, and The Great Escape, building a reputation for live shows that are as intense as they are celebratory. With No Te Metas, Lover’s Skit offers a preview of an EP that promises to be eclectic and unapologetically their own.
