Louie Blue is back with his first release in nearly three years. Titled Diamond, the single he's now releasing showcases his evolution as an artist, exploring themes of spirituality and trust through a sophisticated pop lens, and comes along with a highly sensitive music video. Following the release of his album Division 8 in 2022, the Finnish rising star spent his hiatus honing his craft and building his own recording studio to achieve a more authentic sound until his return to the music scene.
“During my break, I’ve also worked to develop my musical craft more holistically by learning to play different instruments essential for bringing my vision to life,” Blue replies when we ask him about this time he took for himself, which has helped him reconnect with the identity of his musical project. "When creating music, I start from a place of solitude where I confront my own truths and create art that challenges the superficiality of modern pop music,” he adds.
Drawing inspiration from the shimmering synthesisers and soulful melodies of 80s music that surrounded him during his childhood, Diamond is composed, written, arranged, produced, and mixed by Louie Blue himself, with mastering by Aleksis Raivio. The accompanying music video, shot entirely in black and white, perfectly captures the nostalgic spirit of early MTV, featuring dramatic lighting and vintage film techniques that pay homage to the groundbreaking music videos that burst onto the scene four decades ago. Since the release of his hit single Confused when he was seventeen, Blue has not stopped developing his musical project, even when he has been away from the spotlight. His personal sound is stronger than ever in his latest release.
