"I wrote this song together with my collaborator Breyer, and from the very first session we both knew it was special," he explains. "It tells the story of meeting my girlfriend for the first time during the summer of 2024, on a rooftop overlooking the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We wanted the song to capture that exact feeling of a moment instantly becoming unforgettable. At the same time, we aimed to make it feel timeless from the very first listen, the kind of hook that feels familiar immediately, like you've known the song your whole life." That idea carries through the song, where personal detail sits alongside bright, easy melodies.
Drawing on contemporary pop and artists such as Harry Styles, Rex Orange County, Dijon and Joji, Hesby keeps his songwriting close to everyday experience and emotion.
