Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, London — city after city, show after show. The momentum also arrives during an important moment for the artist: this week marks one year since the release of a melancholic romcom and one month since his latest single, it’s ALWAYS been about you.
Blending alt pop, rock influences and cinematic storytelling, kylekelly’s music moves through emotional confusion, modern relationships and overthinking without turning everything into dramatic confessionals. There’s humour inside the writing too, sometimes appearing exactly where you would least expect it.
Raised in suburban New Jersey, kylekelly grew up learning piano, guitar, bass and drums before most artists even know what kind of music they want to make. By seventeen, he was already performing across New York City, developing the kind of live instinct that still defines a huge part of the project today. That contrast between introspective songwriting and high-energy performances has slowly become part of his identity.
