Fresh from her debut at Hï Ibiza on 27 August, KLP marks a defining moment in her international rise with the release of Restart, a hypnotic collaboration with Human Movement on Gallery Recordings. Fusing her soaring vocal delivery with Edward Macdonald’s deep, rolling production, the track captures the euphoria of the dancefloor while signalling a new chapter for both artists.
For KLP, the collaboration was as instinctive as it was rewarding. “I’ve known Human Movement for years now and he hit me up with this idea but needed help pulling it together and finding the right sound for the vocals. I thrive on vocal production and delivery and as soon as I heard it I knew I could get it to the place he was looking for sonically.” The result is a club anthem that balances intimacy with catharsis, a reflection of their shared ability to connect sound with emotion.
Her Ibiza debut, meanwhile, left a lasting impression. “Incredible — I think I’m still on a high from the whole experience. There is a different type of energy on the island and it comes out in the way people celebrate and party on the dance floor.” She later shared with fans: “I was expecting to play to no one as I was opening the club room but people came so early, stayed and danced. Feeling v grateful. Thank you for having me.”
KLP’s career path has been anything but linear. From hosting triple j’s House Party to becoming a platinum-certified producer, DJ and A&R at Sweat It Out, she has continually expanded her role in shaping the culture. Beyond her own records, she has launched grants for emerging artists and curated all-women writing camps with Spotify, with a new initiative planned around ADE in Amsterdam.
The pace shows no sign of slowing. “I have some pretty exciting collabs on the way over the next few months. One with some of my closest mates (shout out Mell Hall and Loosie Grind) and then some with some internationals that I can’t mention yet but I am beyond excited about.” With Restart now out in the world, and her Ibiza debut still resonating, KLP’s trajectory is proof that this is only the beginning of her global story.
