Just in April of last year, then Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri sent a love letter to New York City via her Dior Fall 2024 collection. For decades, the French Maison has been tightly connected to the buzzing, vibrant, and inspiring American city. Now, this relationship is getting stronger with the opening of the House of Dior New York, an exceptional boutique located on the corner of 57th Street and Madison in Manhattan.
This welcoming flagship store, designed by architect Peter Marino, is opening with some exclusive limited-edition pieces available only in that boutique, like new versions of the emblematic Lady Dior bag, and even a preview of a special silver edition of the Dior Lady Art conceived by artist Anna Weyant. The Millefiori and Blue Jardin de Dior motifs blossom on skirts, dresses, and bar jackets, while shoes like the J’Adior slingbacks are now adorned with nude micro-pearls. There’s also jewellery, including the Bois de Rose collection, including a ring and bracelet in rose gold dotted with pink sapphires. The Newspaper print is also back and stronger than ever in bags as coveted as the Dior Book Tote or the Lady Dior.
The commitment of the Maison to artistry and craftsmanship is found in each of the four floors of the new House of Dior New York: in the garden by Peter Wirtz on the ground-floor vitrine, in the VIP lounge adorned with art by Joyce Billet, in the Dior Spa New York (a 400-square-metre haven of peace), and all throughout the building, with artworks and furniture by artists like Robert Mapplethorpe, Roland Mellan, Adam Fuss, Claude Lalanne, Azuma Makoto, Nir Hod, Karine Laval, Tony Scherman, Jennifer Steinkamp, or Jean-Michel Othoniel.
So, whether you’re in NYC or just planning to visit, you’ll have to add a stop to Dior’s new boutique for sure. Equipped with everything from men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections to jewellery, watches, accessories, handbags, perfumes, and beauty, the House of Dior New York will welcome you with open arms.
