The maison is set to collaborate with Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time F1 champion and embodiment of Dior's boldness and singularity. Hamilton has been named brand ambassador and will be guest designer for their forthcoming lifestyle capsule, out on October 17th.
Jones describes that both he and Hamilton "share a love of nature [and] a desire to celebrate Africa." Indeed, the collection features vibrant colours and woven fabrics, a clear nod to the African fashion approach; Hamilton notes the inspiration from the continent's "fabrics and belief in natural materials." The collection also embraces a voluminous silhouette, making pieces look clean, airy, and easy to move in.
Cold weather is also clearly a guiding factor. Fleeces, denim, and signature Dior tweeds are sure to keep you warm while taking refuge from chilly nights—a warm cup of hot chocolate is highly recommended. For those who prefer to embrace the cold Elsa-style, there are snowboards, iridescent goggles, and winter sport helmets inspired by Japanese skiwear that you can actually use when hitting the slopes. The athletic backpacks are made of ultra-resilient material but still bear that touch of elegance in silver buckles and metallic zippers.
