Today, global house music icon Chris Lake officially releases his highly anticipated debut album, Chemistry, via his independent label, Black Book Records. This fifteen-track project reflects over two decades of his influence in dance music and showcases his unique production style. Chemistry features standout singles like Savana, which has topped Spotify’s Viral Charts in multiple countries, and Ease My Mind, with over 20 million streams and a No. 1 spot on the ARIA Club Charts. The album also includes Falling, a collaboration with Grammy-nominated electronic artist Bonobo and vocalist Alexis Roberts.
“I’ve been at this for over twenty years at this point, so it’s about time we added an album to the discography.” Chris Lake jokes. “I’m really proud of this collection of tracks. I wanted to create something cohesive that still allowed each track to live in its own world, and doing it on my own terms, through Black Book Records, made that vision possible. There’s no label influence here; it’s entirely self-funded and independently released. Releasing my debut record on my own label is scary yet so incredibly rewarding. It’s like two decades of work all come together on this release.”
Chris’s sound combines his British roots with energetic garage percussion and heartfelt vocals. Describing the album, with thirteen of the fifteen tracks created in studio collaborations, as a “defiant artistic statement,” he wanted to emphasise creative chemistry over commercial metrics. Alongside the album release, Chris Lake announces the Chemistry Album Tour, a thirteen-date North American tour launching this fall. The tour will feature custom production and exclusive edits to bring the album’s full creative depth to life, visiting major venues like Echostage in Washington, DC, and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.
