After two consecutive summers of cancellations due to the pandemic, the excitement is real. The activities are divided into two main locations: Sónar by Day will be held at the city’s Fira Montjuïc, with concerts, DJ sets, showcases at the new stage SónarPark by DICE and, to top it off, Sónar+D; the congress focused on giving space for creativity, technology and business to get together. And Sónar by Night will take place at Fira Gran Via L’Hospitalet, hosting live shows and DJ sets from the biggest names in music.
After C. Tangana cancelled his performance at the Primavera Sound because of his tight schedule, it’s good news to see that he’s one of the newest additions to this festival. The Argentinian Nathy Peluso will also be there with her singular mix of genres that go from rap to salsa. We’ll see rappers like
El Bobe,
Locoplaya or
Morad, who puts out hit after hit. Bedroom pop is also very present with artists like
Simona or the duo
Rusowsky and
Mori. The experimental and electronic
Arca,
MBODJ from
Jokkoo, or urban artists like
Juicy Bae,
Chico Blanco and
Ms Nina are other names that stand out from the local music scene. And the young talent
Rojuu couldn’t be left out.
On an international scale, seeing the names of The Blesseed Madonna,
Vegyn,
LSDXOXO or
Jayda G we can tell the DJ sets will be fire. After their huge success, Sónar is counting again on Princess Nokia and the rapper
Tommy Cash. The multifaceted producers
Sega Bodega and
Coucou Chloe will also be there, both from record label
Nuxxe. And experimental musicians like
Serpentwithfeet or
The Blaze are proof that the festival is a combination of the best avant-garde talents.
The list is endless, so make sure to check out for the complete line-up. All in all, everything points to this year being unforgettable so if you don’t want to miss a thing, you can get your
tickets here.
