With forty-seven editions under his belt, Virgil Abloh was known for re-inventing and transforming Nike Air Force 1s (along with other sneakers), by including his now iconic quotation marks. And you will now be able to see them in person in an exhibition from May 20 to May 31 in New York City, coinciding with a number of art installations around the city. All of these events are leading up to the launch, in June 2022, of the Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh.
These were first presented in Louis Vuitton's S/S 2022 collection, through nine different editions. The ”Air Force 1” are manufactured in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, (Italy) fusing the sneaker's codes with the French Maison's finest leather and materials, and visual grammar of Virgil Abloh. In February they sold two-hundred pairs at an auction, the money went to The Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund.
