Welcome to the new film by Wong Kar-wai. Oh, sorry! Welcome to the magical, glimmering world of Troye Sivan’s Got Me Started, the second single of his much-awaited new album, set to release in October. After the viral success of Rush, an instant gay anthem where the Australian pop star freed himself in the kinkiest, most danceable way possible, he’s back to serving energetic choreography, high fashion (we see you, Loewe and Ludovic de Saint Sernin), and oneiric escapism.
Directed by renowned Gordon von Steiner, Sivan’s new music video takes us to the fun and crowded Bangkok. Among the busy street’s of the city’s Chinatown neighbourhood, we delve into the colourful and vibrant nightlife that it offers: drag queens, public baths, night markets, and elegant cocktail bars (where Troye is apparently cheering with… his sugar daddy?). Just like his previous release, the choreography goes hard in this one as the singer has worked again with choreographer Sergio Reis. Last but not least, stylist Clare Byrne delights fashion enthusiasts by pulling some fresh-off-the-runway looks by some of our favourite designers like JW Anderson for Loewe or Ludovic de Saint Sernin.
