If you grew up in the early 2000s, you’re about to love this song. Do you remember Crazy Frog, that silly little avatar of an artist that made us dance to high-energy electronic music as kids? One of its biggest hits, Popcorn, which was actually sampled from Gershon Kingsley’s 1969 classic of the same title, is making a comeback in OVERWERK’s new single, 2 Die 4, which he’s launched in collaboration with singer and vocalist Black Atlass. This is the producer’s first single of the year, and it’s here to make an impact on your summer playlists.
Ok, we’ve cheated a bit: 2 Die 4 was actually released back in February, and since then, it’s reached over 170,000 streams only on Spotify. But recently, he’s also shared the song’s official music video,  directed by Dan Lemoyne and sponsored by Apple, which takes us on a speedy trip around New York City’s subway and underground club scene. With a first-person POV, we follow a young girl around the tube, the city, her beautiful apartment, and a party filled with strobing lights in an industrial hangar.
For his first release of the year, electronic producer OVERWERK (born Edmond Huszar) is a reinterpretation of Tove Lo’s hit, originally launched in 2022. Creating an enveloping atmosphere thanks to Black Atlass’ angelical yet distorted voice, OVERWERK’s take on the hit makes it more cinematic, more club-ready, and more pulsating. Paired with the music video, the result is hazy, seductive, and perfect for a night out that feels more like dream rather than just an ordinary party.
