Louis Vuitton has unveiled its Men’s Pre-Spring 2021 collection by Virgil Abloh. The collection marks a new chapter that aims to transmit “values of diversity, unity and inclusion” through Abloh’s understanding of nuance, which he defines as a “term for communicating core humanitarian values through poise, style and grace” and that, “like sarcasm, can be difficult to understand.”
Characterized by a dark colour palette (black, navy and grey) combined with neutral tones like beige and white, the Pre-Fall 2021 collection is thought after the “essential weather-oriented requirements of the everyday wardrobe,” including leather and puffer jackets, windbreakers, suits, long-sleeve shirts, jumpers, hoodies and cardigans. For this collection, Abloh is putting LV’s emblematic flower monogram front and centre, which can be found embroidered on a red shearling jacket, quilted on a green gilet, or transformed into a camouflage-looking alternative in trousers, a windbreaker, or a pair of jeans. In addition, it debuts a new sneaker with a semi-transparent shock absorber sole.
