Hailing from Scotland and currently based in London, up-and-coming pop sensation Kirsty Grant has just released a new single, Jupiter. In her own words, she wanted “a song that could manifest the confidence that I had always dreamed to have, with no self-doubt and imposter syndrome, but just feeling like a star with no limits.” She’s achieved so with a dreamy production inspired by 2000s bops, lyrics that combine personal introspection and catchy hooks, and a general upbeat feeling that makes it radio-friendly.
Speaking further of what inspired the euphoric track, Kirsty shares: “After learning that there are only ten hours in a day on Jupiter from Nick the co-writer, we joked about being so confident that you can run loops around everyone else ‘doing double time like, like I’m on Jupiter’ by only needing ten hours in a day vs everyone else’s twenty-four hours. I hope that it can inspire caring a little less about what people think, and unapologetically focusing on yourself and what makes you happy.”
This new single follows previous releases this year, like Wish on Me, which lit up Spring, and Outerbody, another bop that she released right at the start of the year. So it seems that Kirsty is on a mission to help us go through every season with a new uplifting song. Jupiter is the third single of her upcoming EP Outerbody, whose release date is set to be announced. After her successful rise to fame with the 2021 record Chain Reaction, her audience is notably excited to have another long work from the London-based artist.
