Referencing and inspired by one of his favorite musical compositions, the Japanese Junya Watanabe presents his proposal for F/W 2022, a brief but strong exhibition of his already recognizable style in which elements such as deconstruction, winks to dark aesthetics, and emphasis on outerwear are presented in the form of a fashion film.
Plight (The Spiralling of Winter Ghosts), the album created by David Sylvanian and Holger Czukay in the 80s, is the origin of this collection presented in Tokyo, in which Rei Kawakubo's protégé works with materials and silhouettes familiar to him such as denim, leather and bomber jackets, reinterpreting them in different ways. A kind of asymmetrical patchwork work can be found in several of the garments and in general, the mix of materials, fabrics, and colors is a striking point, contrasting with three total looks in black leather that open the show.

The poetic, dark and mysterious essence of the reference album is materialized both in the looks and the aesthetics of the models inspired by the concept of "winter ghost" and the slow and hypnotic cadence of the film.
