If we were to describe Jacquemu’s new store in Los Angeles, we’d probably say cosy, homey, and welcoming. A major yellow sofa, terracota floors, nods to Art Decó, and beautifully placed objects make the French designer’s new space something worth visiting. So if you’re around, make sure to head to 8804 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, for a sensory treat — from texture to smell to, of course, visual.
Simon Porte Jacquemus has been building his powerful brand for over ten years. Rooted in the South of France, the love for his late mother, and a year-round summertime feeling, the French designer has capitalised on feel-good moments and places. That’s what he brings to everything he does — his collections but also campaigns, runway shows, and stores. After expanding his realm beyond Paris to London and New York, now Simon is decided to take over the West Coast.
With yellow and earthy tones, the new Jacquemus Los Angeles boutique is especially thought as bringing a part of the Mediterranean to the Pacific: surrounding the entry, olive trees and lavender conjure the South of France and create a warm and olfactive welcome. Elsewhere, you can find rustic materials like terracota bricks on the floor arranged in the point de hongrie style, limestone clay stucco walls, custom sofas upholstered in linen, ceramic vases, and mid-century candelabra.
