We just came back from the 39th edition of the Hyères Festival, and so much happened that we don't know where to start. From the exhibitions of the nominees in the fashion, jewellery, and photography categories to maxi-installations that turned the Villa Noailles into a drawing come to life, passing by masterclasses of icons like Nicolas di Felice or Coco Capitan, this event is known for having a little bit of everything for everyone, and by the looks of the attendees faces and the general vibe during the three days, it seemed like the crowds expectations were surpassed. One of the most important moments is the fashion show where the nominees in this category present their collections, and our photographer Liza Prykhodko was backstage to capture the buzzing energy and the final outcome of the designers' efforts.
During two nights, the most important event in the little town in the south of France that gives name to this festival is the fashion show that represents the peak and final moments of the journey of ten talented designers from all around who have worked nonstop to create a collection that represents their vision and that hopefully will make them win some of the various prizes that are at stake. The venue was filled with press, experts, influencers, and fashion enthusiasts, aside from the members of the different jury members, including the presidents of each category: Nicolas di Felice from Courrèges in fashion, Coco Capitan in photography, and Achilles Ion Gabriel in accessories.
The work of Romain Bichot (Belgium), Dolev Elron (Israel), Logan Goof (USA), Gaëlle Halloo Lang (France), Fabian Kis-Juhasz (Hungary), Victor Koehler and Victoria Baia (France), Tal Maslavi (Israel), Julie Mouly-Pommerol (France), Lilian Navarro (France), and Kenshiro Suzuki (Japan) graced the runway and gained praises and wows from the audience, but we all know how behind the scenes, on the busy and chaotic backstages, a big part of the magic is borned.
