Get into the dystopian and cyberpunk mood with Dr. Martens and Warner Bros. Discovery’s new collaborative collection of footwear and accessories that celebrates the film studio’s centenary and pays tribute to two of its most iconic films: Blade Runner and Mad Max: Fury Road.
On a journey towards futurism where cinematographic references have been key to its development, Dr. Martens and Warner Bros. have come together to pay tribute to their most famous dystopian films of all time with a collection that includes a pair of models: the 1460 boots, the Jadon boots, as well as the Reporter bag, all adorned with elements from the films.
The intense and visually fascinating film Mad Max: Fury Road has been honoured with the Jadon Mad Max boot model, a chrome version of the most recognisable Dr. Martens platform boot. It is made with a type of flexible and waxed leather, and it features a metal plate in the shape of Immortan Joe’s skull emblem, a matching zipper pull, a skeleton arm, a chain intertwined with red rubber, utilitarian-inspired eyelets and a metallic lace topper in the shape of a mask. Fully resembling the film’s aesthetic, this boot is everything any fan of the movie would want to have.
On the other hand, the 1460 Mad Max: Fury Road boots follow almost the same line, made of textured Old Harness leather, with rivets and a golden harness with laces and a pendant with the Immortan Joe emblem and the back strap bears the quote ‘What a great day!’ from Nux. Both boots have the characteristic and unique Dr. Martens codes: the typical black and yellow bow on the heel and yellow stitching.
Blade Runner is a visually stunning film, with a dark and gloomy atmosphere that perfectly captures the feeling of a world on the brink of collapse. To do it justice, the Jadon Blade Runner boots, made of Smooth leather, have been elevated with a TecTuff heel.
