Hej, fashion enthusiasts. Good news! Copenhagen Fashion Week has announced new dates for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2024 season. From August 7 to 11, over thirty different brands including Henrik Vibskov, Ganni, Stine Goya, Helmstedt, Baum und Pferdgarten and Munthe will showcase their new collections in the Danish capital, known for its strict sustainability requirements.
After the main four fashion weeks we all know, Copenhagen has positioned itself as one of the most sought-after events in the fashion calendar, becoming a staple for any industry insider. Considering its steady yet unstoppable growth, the organisation has added an extra day to the event (starting on Monday) for buyers, editors, photographers, designers, stylists and other professionals to have more time for meetings and get to know each other. In the words of CEO Cecile Thorsmark: “As our fashion weeks continue to grow, we too must expand into the wider part of the week in order to give the deserved time and space for the exceptional line up we have planned for SS24 across shows, presentations, events and activations. This growth is symbolic furthermore of our organisations’ reach and reputation on a global scale, of which we are so thankful for our continued supporters and partners and brands.”

But those aren’t the only news. CPHFW and Zalando join forces to present the first-ever Zalando Visionary Award, which celebrates “the makers of the future” and enables “ designers to showcase their dedication to creativity, innovation and positive social impact.” The first winner is London-based brand Paolina Russo, founded by Paolina Russo and Lucile Guilmard, known for their innovative approach to knitwear, which combines heritage craftsmanship with new technologies. As winners, the designers are awarded a cash prize of 50,000 euros, as well as receive monetary support for show production in their upcoming runway show in Copenhagen.

Another initiative focused on supporting emerging talent is the CPHFW Newtalent supported by Circulose®, which this time includes four different brands: P.L.N, Latimmier, Nicklas Skovgaard, and Rolf Ekroth (who’s debuting this season). Those brands have a three-year programme of mentorship, monetary support, partnership offerings, and professional advisors in addition to showcasing their work as part of the official schedule of Copenhagen Fashion Week.

So get your most fashionable attire ready because we’re going up north to enjoy the new edition the fashion week, which celebrates local and international talent, sustainability, and presents new voices to be heard, new awards and recognitions, and much more.
