After the showroom presented by thirty shortlisted designers on February 26th and 27th for the LVMH Prize, a panel of forty-two experts from the fashion industry announced twelve finalists. The team of young fashion designers showed an explosion of creativity and the diversity of the Prize, with professionals from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Russia and the United States of America.
For Delphine Arnault, Vice President of Louis Vuitton and one of the juries, it was difficult to make a choice. “The singularity as well as the high level of quality of their collections particularly impressed the experts”, she said. The shortlist now is composed by Atto (Julien Dossena), CG (Chris Gelinas), Gabriele Colangelo, Hood By Air (Shayne Olivier), Jacquemus (Simon Porte Jacquemus), Miuniku (Tina and Nikita Sutradhar, Simone Rocha, Suno (Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis), Thomas Tait, Tillmann Lauterbach, Tim Coppens, Vika Gazinskaya.
The twelve designers are going to be back in Paris on May 28th to meet the members of the jury who will select the winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers 2014 edition. It is remarkable that the first edition of the contest for Graduates was very successful with more than 600 applicants from world renowned schools.
