A collection that thrives in a homely, intimate environment, but can also fit within the chaos of a bustling street. This is Sun Poem, the new proposal from Wales Bonner for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. It reflects what it means to define oneself and catch stolen glances with like-minded people on the outside. Neutral beige tones, chocolate browns and soft ivories are accentuated with primary colours for boldness that still feels soft and inviting, not overpowering. Cosy ribbed knitwear gives a comforting, familiar feeling, like sun rays warming up the face. Loose tailoring allows the fabric to simply exist with ease, carrying you from morning to afternoon to night.
Heritage checks and chevrons appear in subtle manifestations, existing in the everyday. A collaboration with Anderson & Sheppard results in a knee-length wool topcoat with lighter-shaded lapels for a subdued colour-blocking effect. Wales Bonner’s signature shines through in this collection, adapted for the more fluid, relaxed language of the warmer months. Loose shirting is explored in faint striped prints with ‘Malaika’ and ‘Angel’ in striking lettering, and ‘Moving towards Oneness’ written across the shoulder blades. The striping carries through into other parts of the collection, adding detail to the muted base tones.
Footwear is elevated in leather, pony hair and suede materials. The Paris Trainer is reimagined in lighter shades, the Dakar Loafer appears in a black eyelet version, and the Julien Slipper is visualised in a rich brown. Delicate visions are hardened with snakeskin-print leather and metallic hardware for a sense of domesticity meeting the outside. Suiting is relaxed, but Wales Bonner’s famed tailoring remains present. It’s a collection that feels authentically effortless, captured through candid photography and hazy, inviting gazes into the lens.
