The Italian fashion brand did it again. Known for it’s investigation of feminine identity, Prada states that every woman carries on her body fragments of her own history, her experiences, her loves, her dramas. Together with David O. Russell they created a multi-platform film project called Past Forward, which shows the message of the brand more clear than ever. The film premiered at the new Hauser Wirth & Schimmel Gallery in Los Angeles on November 15th.

Past Forward
depicts the same story of three different women, replayed in shifting combinations. There is a parallax view in which scenes and characters repeat and morph. The viewer is left to decode what is experience, what is memory, what is dream and to figure out the overlap and differences between them. Miuccia Prada challenged David O. Russell to make a work of cinema, so he let go of his creativity and created characters as elements of a complex collage. Being free from normal narrative or audience expectations, he made a work of art. Just like the effect that art can have on people, this movie will grab each person’s attention in a different way and leave the gaps open, for you to fill in.
