Back in August, Louis Vuitton celebrated its menswear runway show in Shanghai, China, after a digital presentation during Digital Paris Fashion Week. The animal-like characters created by multifaceted artist Reggie Know, part of the Zooooom With Friends project, started their journey in France and just finished it in Tokyo, Japan, today, where the French Maison has held a second show – again, in a harbour, so the ship with the characters and the Spring/Summer 2021 collection could dock – featuring new pieces created especially for the occasion. Colourful and playful, the 30-minute-long event has focused on concepts that Virgil Abloh has been working on these past seasons: boyhood, Black imagination, his Ghanian roots/heritage, and upcycling.
