Welcome to a futuristic technicolour fantasy! Directed by Aymeric Bergada Du Cadet, Ascendant Vierge’s new music video, Discoteca, is a hypnotising electropop anthem with strobing lights and heavy makeup celebrating club culture.
Ascendant Vierge, composed by “goth-pop singer-songwriter-performer” Mathilde Fernandez and DJ, producer and collective Casual Gabberz founder Paul Seul, self-define as a “new transnational and trans-musical” duo. Hailing from Brussels and mainly singing in French, the up-and-coming group’s releases include the irony-imbued songs Influenceur and Faire et Refaire.

Discoteca, their latest upbeat and uplifting track, is the new single from NADSAT, a compilation by Because Music supporting BIPOC/LGBTQ+ artists and celebrating the new electronic, avant-rave generation pivoting around Paris, where genres like pop, rap, afrotrap, reggaeton, gabber, hard techno, eurodance, kuduro, trance, classic house, electro, techno, UK bass and R&B mix up together.
