Today, on the full moon day, Swatch is dropping its latest Bioceramic MoonSwatch: Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold. Available only today, August 9, in selected Swatch stores worldwide, this new release introduces the brand’s most poetic twist yet, a “terrestrial phase” indicator that shows Earth as seen from the Moon, rotating opposite to the moon phase. Both displays are coated in OMEGA’s Moonshine™ Gold and feature illustrations from the Snoopy universe, including a UV-hidden message for those who know where to look.
The 42 mm case is crafted from deep navy Bioceramic, a sustainable blend of ceramic and castor-oil-based material, with a white iridescent dial and glowing Super-LumiNova® details. The moon phase disc at 2 o’clock shows two radiant full moons: one classic and one Snoopy-styled, both linked to August’s Sturgeon Moon. Below, the Earthphase tracks our planet’s cycle as seen from the lunar surface, with Snoopy and Woodstock gazing back at it in quiet awe. Flip the watch over and you’ll find engraved mission lines and a battery cover featuring a UV-reactive Earth.
As with every MoonSwatch release, this is a one-shot deal: no online sales, no restocks, one watch per person per store. Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold stands out not just for its design tweaks and lunar references, but for how it blends playful storytelling with mechanical detail. It’s a small reminder, from Swatch, Snoopy, and the Moon itself, that there’s still room for imagination in watchmaking.
