The wait is finally over. LVMH has just unveiled the winners of its prestigious Prize for Young Fashion Designers, and the fashion world is buzzing. Every year, the award shines a spotlight on the creative voices set to bring a fresh proposal into the scene, and the 2025 edition has proven no exception.
Now in its twelfth year, the LVMH Prize has grown into one of fashion’s most coveted honours, offering not only generous financial support but also something far rarer: access to mentorship from the creative and business leaders of the world’s biggest luxury group. Decided by a jury of icons—from Nicolas Ghesquière to Phoebe Philo, to Jonathan Anderson, and Pharrell Williams, with Bollywood star Deepika Padukone joining as a special guest—, the prize has become a powerful launchpad for designers who dare to redefine what fashion can be. It’s the most prestigious award of fashion design and, of course, you need to know everything about it.
This year’s event, staged at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, celebrated three standout talents. Soshi Otsuki took home the Grand Prize, receiving €400,000 and a year-long mentorship for his label Soshiotsuki, recognised for its refined menswear rooted in impeccable tailoring and subtle fluidity. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize went to Steve O. Smith, the British designer bringing sketches to life as surreal, one-of-a-kind garments, awarded €200,000 and a year of mentorship. And the Savoir-Faire Prize was awarded to Torishéju Dumi, whose bold silhouettes draw from her Nigerian-Brazilian heritage and storytelling-driven approach, alongside €200,000, mentorship, and a special collaboration with Maison Vermont to support her future collections.
In addition, three promising fashion graduates, Louna Clozel, Sophia Sacchetti, and Peiwen Mao were honored with €10,000 grants each, as well as placements at Louis Vuitton Homme, Kenzo, and Dior.
This year’s impressive lineup of finalists also included the brands Alainpaul, August Barron, Francesco Murano, Tolu Coker, and Zomer, all set to continue their upward trajectories in the industry.
