It's hard to believe, but Loewe's iconic Puzzle Bag is celebrating its 10th anniversary! To mark a decade of this beloved design, conceived by Jonathan Anderson, Loewe is looking back at its archives and rereleasing nineteen of the most memorable Puzzle Bag designs.
The anniversary collection features a range of standout pieces, from the original suede pink patchwork version that debuted in 2014 to the pixelated-pattern style from spring 2023. These re-editions highlight how Anderson consistently drew inspiration from various artistic movements. Many of the bags served as canvases, honouring the works of artists like William De Morgan and Joe Brainard, as well as William Morris, Ken Price, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The collection showcases Loewe's signature blend of artistry and engineering, with designs incorporating a wide range of hand-applied techniques such as cross-stitch, appliqué, leather marquetry, and embossing.
For this special occasion, Loewe is also introducing a new style called Confetti. This bag is covered with thousands of multicoloured leather sequins and takes inspiration from artist Lara Favaretto’s crumbling cubes, which were featured in Loewe’s Fall 2023 runway show. Each anniversary collection bag comes with special extra details, including a limited-edition plaque, unique charms, and an actual Loewe jigsaw puzzle.
For the commemorative collection, the brand will be celebrating exclusive pop-ups at Bergdorf Goodman and Harrods, along with international art gallery activations, that will accompany the release.
