Echonomist
Casting an Elongated Shadow

With over half a million streams only on Spotify, you might think that Âme and Curses thought they were done with Shadow of Love, a song they released in October of last year via renowned label Innervisions. After the massive success and playing it live these past months, the powerhouses thought a remix could give it a new spin, identity, and mood, which is why they thought of Echonomist. The result? It’s finally out, so you can check yourself!
Rather than giving it a complete makeover, the Greek DJ and producer has enhanced the track’s vibe and allowed it to become a dancefloor hit. The original has an underlying New Wave, dark touch, with Curses’ voice drawing you in like a spell. It was like an updated version of your favourite 80s bands’ hit songs — enjoyable and danceable especially after dark. Taking that into account, Echonomist has elevated it even more by adding piercing synths and pulsating basslines. He has elongated that shadow for another minute and a half, allowing other DJs and producers to remix it in their upcoming sets in clubs and festivals worldwide — which everyone is getting ready for.
The breezy result, a version that’s perfect to uplift you – whether it’s doing your daily workout in the gym or having some drinks at a house party –, doesn’t come much as a surprise though. Since the original was already good, Echonomist just had to give it his personal touch, which has actually also enhanced Âme’s and Curses’ unique sounds. After remixing songs for other artists including Toto Chiavetta, Agoria, Woo York, Bjorn, Marsellie or Kino Todo, among others, Shadow of Love just adds to his impressive collection.
